Google Search Console
“Page with redirect”: meaning and how to fix it
Normally fineWhat it means
The URL redirects somewhere else, so Google indexes the destination instead.
Is it a problem?
Normally not. It becomes one if important internal links or the sitemap still point at redirecting URLs.
Common causes
- Old URLs redirected after a migration
- http → https or non-www → www redirects
- Internal links or the sitemap listing pre-redirect URLs
How to fix it
- Update internal links and the sitemap to the final URLs
- Avoid redirect chains: point straight at the final destination
How to check the fix
Only needed if you changed something. Redirecting URLs leave the report on their own.
